FORTITUDE :: an #isolationcreation self-portrait (aka a portrait photographer trying to keep busy in the time of COVID-19)
This one actually wasn't conceived because of the COVID situation - it's been in my sketchbook for more than a year, but I had stopped making work like this. When I decided the other day to start making self portraits again, I opened the sketchbook up for some inspiration and this one spoke to me. Now even more than before, because of the strange and startling times we're in. Everything is changing so quickly (and so devastatingly for many) and it quickly became clear to me that I would melt down if I didn't focus on cultivating some inner calm, inner strength, etc. Easier said than done, but I'm working on it.
