I have been remiss in posting the results of my project photographing the Artists of Elk Run in their studios! These shoots were all done about a year ago so I can't believe I haven't shared half of them, but as they say - better late than never ;) (In case you missed the first few - see Kari Woo, of Cabbages & Kings, Kathryn Cooke, and Barb Fyvie in previous posts!)

This is Peig Abbott. She is a sculptor and she works with clay, stone, snow, ice, metal - she is all sorts of badass. It was incredible to watch Peig work for a short while during this shoot. I am so fascinated by the fact that her finished work has this beautiful flow and ease to it, but the process of getting it there is kind of brutal with the strikes of hammer to chisel, the bits of stone flying and the noise and dust of the grinding and sanding. So wild. And with such a beautiful result.

That mix of strength and softness really speaks to me.

If you'd like to learn more about Peig and the work she's creating, check out her site and her facebook!
