I made this yesterday, starting off with the desire to express thoughts about listening to one's inner voice and trusting that creativity is inside each of us, if we just give it a chance to breathe. But then as I sat down at my desk to edit it, I turned on the news and started to hear about what was going on at (and inside!) the US Capitol building and it all snowballed into thoughts about how messed up things are (not just there, either) and how far we have to go, to make it better. And so then this self portrait kind of morphed into a prayer for peace and justice. And aside from that prayer, I'm at a loss for words, really.
